Monet Sunflowers

How have I not yet mentioned that my garden is edged now with gorgeous, sunny heads?!

These beautiful sunflowers are Monets, courtesy of my friends Jaclynn & Samantha. And now I want to learn how to successfully keep seeds — anyone want to give me some tips? 🙂

  1. Hurray!! They are gorgeous! I should send you some pictures of mine or maybe upload them to my photo site so everyone can see 😉

As far as keeping the seed heads, we cut them off when they are dry and store them in a paper bag. Usually we just put all the seed heads together and then later on (when we have the time), we’ll shake the heads to get the seeds out. Sometimes they can be stubborn though, so you’ll want to put on gloves if you are picking/brushing them out.
Then we store them in ziploc bags or I make seed packets out of them to give away! =)

  2. They are beautiful, I am enjoying ours too. They brighten up the world outside with their cheerful faces!
