On a Firstname Basis

So we have gotten the question quite often lately, what we call our daughter… and then also how to pronounce it.

While it had never really crossed our minds that we would be asked this, it’s kind of fun to spell it out and set the record straight from the beginning. 🙂

Our daughter’s name is Evangeline. Yes, that’s what we call her. Nope, she doesn’t have a nickname. (Just like the rest of the family!) And as for pronunciation, it goes like this:

eh-VAN-juh-leen

And it’s awfully beautiful, don’t ya think? 🙂

  4. That’s so funny that people actually couldn’t pronounce it!
We named our boys specifically with names that couldn’t really be shortened and people still manage to find weird little nick-names. Personal preference I guess 🙂
