So we have gotten the question quite often lately, what we call our daughter… and then also how to pronounce it.
While it had never really crossed our minds that we would be asked this, it’s kind of fun to spell it out and set the record straight from the beginning. 🙂
Our daughter’s name is Evangeline. Yes, that’s what we call her. Nope, she doesn’t have a nickname. (Just like the rest of the family!) And as for pronunciation, it goes like this:

I’m glad you posted this – I had the pronunciation all wrong. She’s beautiful, and so is her name!
That’s the right way to pronounce it, of course! 😉 I like the full name too…it’s just too cool to shorten!
Yes, a beautiful name, with a special meaning! And love it that you passed on the “joy”. 😀
That’s so funny that people actually couldn’t pronounce it!
We named our boys specifically with names that couldn’t really be shortened and people still manage to find weird little nick-names. Personal preference I guess 🙂
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!! Baby Evangeline is beautiful!!!!! And I love her name! =) I’m loving all these pics you’ve posted! You look so lovely, happy and blessed;it brings tears of joy to my eyes! Praise God for this precious new bundle of Joy!!!!!!
So beautiful. It’s funny how many names we always have pictured/pronounced in our minds, and later find that no-one else has really heard them the way they *should* be. 🙂
Yes, it’s a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. And I love how it goes so well with “Joy”. *hugs*
