Okay, ladies… I need help again with diapers.
This time, disposables.

We’re going away for a few weeks, and I won’t be able to take my cloth diapers along for the ride.
So I am needing to come up with a decision about which disposable diapers to buy.
What do you use??
What leaks least??
What holds the most??
What have you found to be most economical??

I’d hate to buy the cheapest thing out there just to find they don’t hold anything or leak all the time.
So I need to survey y’all to find out what you’ve discovered.
Please help! 🙂

  1. My recommendation is Huggies. They seem to work on Evan the best with the fewest leaks. They are available at Costco which is the most economical that I’ve found after comparing prices at Walmart, Kmart and Target. Pampers are okay, though I found they work better for girls. I also use the Kirkland wipes which are very gentle on babies’ skin and a lot less money than name brand wipes. The Kirkland diapers are a close second in my opinion though for a few dollars more you can buy Huggies.

  2. Holly’s right, you have to go with Huggies (from Costco! way cheaper per diaper). I’ve done a side-by-side comparison (call it a three-way diaper smack-down) between Huggies, Pampers and generic (from Walgreens in this case) and Huggies definitely won. I was surprised because I figured Pampers would be equally good, they are the same price-wise, but no, more leaks with Pampers. So..yep, Huggies are pretty much the best in my book. And, if you delivered at a hospital or go online to sign up for their mailing list, they’ll probably send you scads of coupons. 🙂
    Have fun on your trip!

  3. I am so glad you girls like Huggies! On another blog I read all these women were saying how great Pampers were and how Huggies leak like nothing else. I did not understand that at all. I have used Huggies for most of the time, trying out Pampers and generic from time to time. But I have found that everything else leaks more quickly. PLUS, Pampers DO NOT work for a baby with beautiful chubby little legs. I could hardly fit them onto Elijah, that was probably the reason for quick leaking. I know people who love Pampers though, but I think their babies have slim little legs… hope this helps!

  4. I do have those scads of coupons… and I do love Costco… and my son has recently chubbed up his thighs… so I do believe we’ll be going out to get the Huggies soon & start trying them out. **Thanks so much** for y’alls input!!

  5. Well….  I am a Pampers fan.  Except, the Baby Dry style.  Terrible.  TERRIBLE!  I hated the Huggies I tried for Gillian.  But, I don’t recall what style they were.  The weird thing about Pampers Cruisers for Peyton (or any other boy, for that matter) is that they are purple.  Uh.  Gay.  So, I am glad to be back on the cloth diaper track.  I feel so much better.

  6. I should add that I have heard from other mommies that the Huggies brand at Costco is not as solid as the brand you can get other places. The rumor is they are thinner. Maybe thats why they are cheaper? I have only gotten my Huggies at the grocery store, target, kmart, etc, wherever they are on sale. I don’t know if that is actually true or not, but all the Huggie-haters I have come across only tried them from Costco.

  7. New development:
I was given a box of 92 Pampers Swaddlers! So we’ll be trying those out. 🙂 However, I will need at least two boxes… so I will either buy a second box if they’re a hit, or we’ll be getting some Huggies to make up the difference.
Wow, who knew that talking about diapers would get such a response?? (or be fun, too!)
