Words fitly spoken

Proverbs 25:20

Whoever sings songs to a heavy heart
is like one who takes off a garment on a cold day,
and like vinegar on soda.

Matthew Henry’s concise commentary on this verse:
We take a wrong course if we think to relieve those in sorrow by endeavouring to make them merry.

  1. ahhh, very true! One thing I’ve often had to remind myself is, in the same way we all show our happiness differently, we all will show our grief differently.

Been praying for you friend <3
