Psalm 139:13-17
“For You formed my inward parts;
You knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are Your works;
my soul knows it very well.

My frame was not hidden from You,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in Your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.

How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!”

It is January 24th, and the annual Sunday set aside to mark “Sanctity of Life.” It was January 22nd, 1973, when Roe versus Wade changed American history. Changed it for the worse. What a tragedy! So this Sunday nearest the anniversary of Roe versus Wade is set aside (since its first Presidential Proclamation in 1984 – text) as a time to focus on the beauty, the miracle, the sanctity of life – of every life – no matter how small; and to pray for the nation to realize its folly, to repent of its murderous sin, and to embrace the lives God gives.

Pastor John Piper has a great-looking set of sermons from Sanctity of Life Sundays – take a listen, if you will.

Please beseech the Lord today with Christians around the nation, for the destruction of Planned Parenthood (and similar organizations), for the softening of hardened hearts & the opening of blinded eyes, and for the obliteration of gestational murder (otherwise commonly referred to softly as ‘abortion’).

Matthew 19:14
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me and do not hinder them,
for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
Psalm 34:11
Come, O children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Matthew 11:25-26
Jesus declared, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was Your gracious will.”

  1. I had a long (LONG) conversation on FB with a liberal friend of mine, who does not believe in the sanctity of human life. Its so sad to me… she was fighting for gays and lesbians to be able to get married and is going to spend a day with masking tape over her mouth, to express how she feels about homosexuals “not being heard”. I told her that I’m going to do the same thing, in honor of the millions of unborn, murdered babies, who are never given the chance to have a voice or be heard.

    She retaliated back at me with some weird argument about how she won’t listen to me until I become a vegetarian and stop eating animals. Wow. I basically wrote back and explained that I consider HUMAN life to be sacred and created in God’s image. Anyway… I’m glad you wrote about this. I didn’t know today was marked in honor of this. It did my heart some good to read these verses and to be reminded that God is just and Holy.

  2. (I had a long reply written up but my browser shut down so… here is the condensed version 😉

    This really speaks to me as I have been involved with my local CPC since I was 10 years old. I have raised money against abortions for years….

    There was a local victory in my county a few years back when the CPC actually moved into the old Planned Parenthood building because the PP had to downsize and move. They had prayed for years for that to happen (since 1984) and it happened.

    God does perform miracles and I firmly believe that abortions will be illegal one day.

    I recently heard a broadcast about Abby Johnson, who used to work for PP, and her story. Heart-wrenching truths. It was even an eye opener for me.

    I can’t believe how some people can be so blind.

    Human life starts at conception.

    Abortion is murder, plain and simple.

    No ands, ifs, buts about it.

    LIFE is sacred!

    And there are so many other options besides abortion.

    BUT Planned Parenthood doesn’t like to talk about those. They push to do as many abortions as possibly because of MONEY. They don’t usually even offer counseling before or afterwards.

  3. I just read this:

    “I didn’t know it was different in other states but in Idaho, we don’t do abortions so you have to drive to Washington and over there, they make you have an ultrasound first to see the life you are killing before doing it.”

    That is good news! Esp because we may try and move to Idaho before too long 😉
